PEER-TO-PEER

  • A group of computers(connected together) there is no central centers -users must remember about which computer have shared resources or information that they want to access

CLIENT/SERVER

  • *Each computer that access to internet known as a client computer

  • *The shared data transmitted in one direction only

  • *The level of access that users have to shared resources was controlled

  • *The central center is the server

NETWORK ARCHITECTURE

  • The network architecture is referred to the framework of the computer, devices, and media.

  • The network architecture also know as a design of the complete computer communication network, which provides a framework and technology foundation for designing, building and managing a communication network

  • It can be divided into two, as below:

WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN)

  • A network that exists over a large-scale geographical area

  • Involve a country or continent in order to exchange information. Eg: cellular network

METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK (MAN)

  • MAN can cover one city, that can connect more than LAN

  • Examples: Cable Television network

WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK (WLAN)

  • WLAN is LAN but it do not have uses any physical  wires.

LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

  • LAN can Transmit information just within a small geographical or limited area like home, school,  office building, etc

  • LAN are used in order to connect personal devices and workstation in office/factories to share and interconnected among them.

PERSONAL AREA NETWORK (PAN)

  • A computer network organized around an individual, that used for personal use only.

  • Typically involving a personal computer, phone, printer, tablet, fax and/or some other personal device

TYPE OF NETWORK

Making Every Class Count

USES OF NETWORKS

  • Facilitating communication, Sharing Hardware, Sharing Softare, Sharing data & information.

COMPUTER NETWORKS

  • A computer network is known as a set of autonomous computer interconnected by a single technology. Two computers called as interconnected whenever that two computer be able to exchange information

  • It is a telecommunication channel that allows us to share out data or information with the others.

  • The connection between computers  can be done via cabbling, via Ethernet cable or wirelessly through radio waves

  • We called Computer on a network as nodes (points of intersection or connection within a network)

  • Share software, share data and information, hardware, transfer funds and facilitate communications
